World Book Day

Many of the primary students and staff have come to school dressed as their favourite book character as we are celebrating World Book Day today.
The more that you read, the more things you’ll know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.
-Dr Seuss
Following registration, we held a parade around the school, so that fellow students, parents and friends could enjoy seeing all of the wonderfully imaginative costumes on show. We saw Harry Potters, Hermione Graingers, Little Red Riding Hood, James with his Giant Peach, Charlie Bucket from Roald Dahl’s Charie and the Chocolate Factory, Burglar Bill from the book of the same name, Batman, Spiderman, The Cat in The Hat, Worzel Gummidge, Snow White (and her 7 UAE Nationals!), Mrs Doubtfire, a few Robin Hoods, some of the Mr Men and many more!
I do believe something very magical happens when you read a good book.
-J K Rowling
World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
