Successful 6th Form Charity Afternoon
Last Friday saw our 6th form hold a very successful charity football afternoon, on the sports field.
This annual event is always very popular and it was wonderful to see the friendly atmosphere throughout the day, with students and staff alike.
There were several games of football happening during the afternoon, as well as a food and drink sale and then we had a very popular attraction – students throwing wet sponges at their favourite teachers! Well done to those teachers for being such good sports, particularly Ms Nel, who was encouraging the students to throw the sponges harder!
The winning football team on the day was “Fauz’s Team” captained by Fauz Hendriks in Year11. Fauz’s team consisted of: Fauz Handricks (Captain), Kalvin, James, Tala, Zachary, Sher Goul, Mr Gamil, Yusuf and Sidiqqui. Well done to the winners and every player for taking part and making the day so special.
The event also saw the ‘2016 Ninja Championships.’
Ninja is a game that can be played by any amount of people.
It combines agility and precision in a bid to oust your opponent by getting both their hands out by striking out whilst in turn not getting struck by them.
Well done to 2016’s Ninja Champion, Assir Satti in year 9.
The main reason for the day though was to raise money for the Emirates Red Crescent and we are delighted to announce that just over 1500 dhs was raised!
Well done to everyone one that came along to take part or support the day.
