Senior Football Success
“Another great success for our players representing our school. It was great to hear our school name echoing once more at Al Dhafra school,” said coach Mr Gamil; Go AAESS!
After a great performance by the under 15 boys in their football tournament, the AAESS senior football team followed in their footsteps with a brilliant display in their football tournament at Al Dhafra. With a 4-1 win in their first game, and a thrilling 5-0 win in their second, the boys sailed through into the quarter finals that shall be played in the upcoming weeks. Daques Sterling, scoring 2 goals in the first game and 3 goals in the second, was named MVP of the tournament and we hope he can bring the team more success in the next round. Credit must also be awarded to team captain Adnan Shadid who scored an amazing half way goal and free kick, Fauz Hendriks, James Jones, Elijah Chan, Adam Sheperd, Sher Gul Gazdar and Zachary Ramuran for their non-stop hard work rate and valiant performance throughout the games, and goal keeper Aiken Crow who made some vital saves for the team. Finally credit is awarded to the team coach, Mr Islam Gamil for his great coaching skills and belief in his players which gave them the confidence they needed to perform so well. Congratulations to them all.
Mabroooook!!!
Mr Thomas, Principal, added, “The AAESS football teams are certainly having a better run than my own team, Liverpool FC, & I am very glad! Mr Gamil has certainly worked his magic with his team, but the lads at AAESS are an incredible bunch of men, both on and off the pitch; they make me very proud! Mabrook indeed.”
