The English department, alongside our Primary colleagues, set our students the challenge to read for 25 minutes per session in order to ‘move’ around all the Emirates within the United Arab Emirates.  Each time a student read for 25 minutes they ticked off one of the major tourist attractions within the Emirate and progressed to complete each specific area before moving onto the next one.  This was completed with Year 7 and some Year 8’s and run and organised by Miss Clarke in the English Faculty.

We are delighted that so many students took part in this very challenging task and as you can see from the pictures below many were successful and read for over 1,225 minutes in order to achieve this over the half term.  As a school we encourage life-long literacy and challenge students to excel, which this group of young people did particularly well in this half term.
