Q: Why was the computer late for work?

A) Because it had a hard drive!
Now that we have your attention, did you know the first ever calculator was invented in 1635 by French inventor, mathematician, Blaise Pascal?    Along with that fun fact (and awesome jokes) our Year 7 students are currently learning about the history of computers.   They are applying their knowledge and working in groups to make and present posters.   We’ll announce a winner next week, so keep watching this space.
More Fun Facts:
a) The first ever computer programmer, Lady Agusta Ada – yes, a female!
b) The outstanding computer system created by Alan Turin and Tommy Flowers, which helped break enemy messages during WW2 and ultimately brought it to an end.
