Dear Parent/Guardian,

Please find a letter attached regarding the recent elections of the parent committee from our outgoing Chair Ahmed Al-Mukhaini.

Nearly 6 years ago when I took up this post of the Principal of Al Ain English Speaking School I was desperately keen to initiate a parent committee which would give the valuable and much needed feedback to myself to improve things where possible for the education of our children.

However, whilst many parents gave me their opinions on a day to day, week to week basis, nobody at that time would commit to dedicating their time and formulate that first Parent Committee.

I was then very fortunate that Shiloh Harmitt came out of the shadows where we made small but positive steps in initiating our first committee.

After a very successful start the Chair was passed to Ahmed Al-Mukhaini who took the committee into a new and exciting direction, where we inaugurated sub committees which allowed committee members to work alongside individual members of the senior team to both monitor the heart beat of the school, as well as make subtle but vital changes to our operations which, ultimately has led to the improvement of the education of the students and has seen the school gain its deserved A grade rating in inspection.

I would like to thank the outgoing Chair Ahmed from us all in the Al Ain English Speaking School community.  It is clear that the parent committee would not be in the shape it is today without him and I for one am truly grateful for all of his hard work and dedication to the school.

I welcome Mrs Dalia Mahmoud as the new Chairperson and look forward to working with her and the committee in the very near future.
