Lunchtime Music Concert

The music department put on their first Lunchtime Concert of the year for staff and students alike on the last day of half term. .
Groups from Year 7, 10 and 11 performed in the 6th Form Area, playing a number of songs to an attentive audience.
Mr Crocker, music teacher said ‘This is a fantastic performance opportunity for the students and really brought the school together. Both myself and the performers were surprised with just how many people turned up to watch them play.’
The performances were made up of smaller and bigger bands as well as a vocal trio. The audience applauded loudly and many students have asked if they can be involved next time.
Mr Crocker added – ‘The students in today’s performances should be very proud of themselves but this is just a starting point and something that as a department we’ll be growing over the next year. We want as many people involved in music and performances as possible – Clubs are starting for year 7 and 8 straight after half term and we look to build upon the success of this term. The students at the school are amazing and are capable of big things and we look forward to giving them many more exciting opportunities.’
