Over Spring Break, Isla Newton travelled to Beijing, China to compete in the international figure skating competition, Skate Beijing 2018. It is an annual competition that has the best skaters from all over Asia skating at an intensely high level.
Isla competed in 6 Events and achieved podium standings in all giving her 2 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and a bronze. Skate Beijing was Isla’s first competition for 2018. She is coming off that success to continue her incredibly hard work to compete this month in Abu Dhabi followed by Skate Asia in August, which is the biggest competition of the year. April will be a busy month for Isla as she has also been nominated for the UAE Teen Awards 2018 which are coming up at the end of this month. We wish Isla continued success resulting from her hard work and we are proud that she is representing AAESS.
