During a recent primary assembly, students from 4T presented a play showcasing a new addition to the AAESS playground; The Buddy Bench.

The Buddy Bench concept has been used in schools around the world to promote inclusion, acceptance and student driven conflict resolution. It is hoped that by having one in the playground, our students will take proactive steps to ensure that no one at AAESS ever feels left out, lonely or ignored during break time.

Principal Andrew Thomas was happy to support the project when approached by Mr. Thorenton last year, “Finding out this is the first officially recognized Buddy Bench in the UAE was an honor.  This is a project that the students from Mr T’s class last year and this can be proud of.  It models exactly the values we hold true such as character development, tolerance and helping others.”
