Al Ain Amblers U16 vs Abu Dhabi Harlequins
On May 2nd, Al Ain Amblers Under 16s played their last game against Abu Dhabi Harlequins.
In the squad were several AAESS boys who, most notably, were playing way beyond their age range.
These included:
Victor Vreugdenburg, James Thomas, Vian Vreugdenburg, Marcus Aspell, & Ettienne van Dyk.
Devon Forrester, who was recovering from an operation, played a significant part as support and water boy too.

Principal, Andrew Thomas said, “I was immensely proud to watch this game played on the Ambler’s first team pitch. Although the Amblers were just beaten, this was a great game of rugby, played hard but fairly by both sides. I was also very proud to watch a number of boys play, who represent AAESS, above their age range. Most of whom play at under 14.
They all played very well and were a real credit to themselves, their club and to their parents.
It was great to see Victor score after James set it up and as Principal & Dad in this situation, I was delighted to see our boys perform so well in this situation.
Many thanks to Mr Jordan our own Year 5 teacher who coaches these boys, & Mr Sacks our own Year 4 teacher, who refereed this game so well”.
AAESS are proud sponsors of Al Ain Amblers, having established the club on our own school pitch, many years ago.
