Year 4 Bridge Making

Last week, students in Year 4 took part in Science Day. Students were tasked with designing and building a bridge that was capable of supporting 1kg of weight. They were permitted to use materials which included popsicle sticks, cardboard, tape and straws. Students learned about arch bridges, truss bridges, and suspension bridges, as well as which shapes would be best and strongest to include in their designs. The Year 4 teachers were thoroughly impressed with the fantastic ingenuity, excellent teamwork and impressive problem solving skills that the students displayed throughout the day. After all the bridges were tested and evaluated it was decided that the team of Fatma, Hams, and Yasmeen from 4A had created the strongest design. A big thank you to Mr. Sacks for organising and coordinating the day, and congratulations to all the students who took part!
