Principal’s Summer Letter
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Another year passes, and what a year. The students have worked hard and once again we have seen great successes in academia, the arts and the sports throughout the year groups.
Predictions for our iGCSEs, AS & A Levels are high and like last year we should see very favorable returns. I wish all of our leavers the very best of luck as they head towards university, new climes and new challenges.
We start back on the 10th September and we should see the completion of our new administration building, our new classrooms and our new astro turf.
We will also be welcoming Mr Steve Giles, who will replace Mr Peter Gillmore as the Head of Secondary and Deputy Principal. I know that Mr Giles is looking forward to working and meeting with you all in due course. I thank Mr Gillmore for all his hard work as he joins his family back in the UK.
We also say goodbye and thank you to several other staff, including Kath Hamer who has completed 18 years at AAESS, and Mrs Odele Aston, who is retiring after being at the school for 15 years. We wish them both all the very best for their retirement.
This will be an exciting year and we look forward to welcoming the inspectors towards the end of the first term to show them the hard work and the many improvements that we have made over the last 2 years. On a personal note it is also an exciting time as I enter my 3rd year and will be seeing my youngest son Ben join the FS classes.
May I wish you all a safe and enjoyable summer break and we look forward to seeing you all in September.
I thank you all for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Thomas B.Ed (Hons) M.Phil NPQH
