The school was built around 1979 by the Balfour group.  This was a UK engineering company that were employed to put in the drainage systems in Al Ain.  For the workers, it was clear they needed to establish a school for their own children, and so AAESS was born from the sands.

A couple of classrooms were built quickly and the school became the first English curriculum school here in Al Ain.

The school has changed dramatically since then as we continue to grow!
