Urgent update regarding school reopening 16.1.21

Dear Parent/Guardian/Students,
You are probably aware by now from multi media platforms that all schools in Abu Dhabi are to remain closed with distance learning for an additional 3 weeks starting tomorrow. This is due to the evolution of the virus and a decision taken by the authorities to ensure all of our safety.
It is imperative that students continue with their learning, maintaining routines and good habits to ensure there are no gaps in their learning and also to ensure their own mental wellbeing.
For students sitting exams this year you may be aware that at this moment in time the exam boards have said that your exams will go ahead. However, I have received an update today where I am informed that over the next 2 weeks a consultation period will commence to devise plans should schools be shut during the exam periods. Myself and Mr Abass are closely monitoring the situation and in talks with the exam boards where we will hopefully be able to share their planning in the next couple of weeks or so. However, it is vital that you remain learning and continuing with your studies as there may be a call for evidence to support your exam grades should exams not take place. It is also important that you maintain your learning so you have continuation at the next level in September.
I have been amazed and grateful with the resilience and understanding of our staff, students and the parents over the last 2 weeks. Hopefully these next 3 weeks will see a reduction in virus cases, allowing people to get vaccinated and allowing school to return to some normality on the 7th February which is when we are now expected to return.
Further communications will be sent to you regarding the reopening of the school nearer the time.
Once again I thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely
