Pastoral Care
At Al Ain English Speaking School (AAESS), we take great pride in our pastoral care, ensuring that our students are well-supported and nurtured in a happy and healthy environment. Our dedicated teachers provide personalised care, guiding each child through their learning journey and helping them to develop resilience and adaptability. We understand the importance of emotional wellbeing as a foundation for effective education, recognising that happy children are more likely to succeed and be better prepared for learning.
Life brings challenges to all of us, and children are no exception. Our caring and supportive teachers are always available to help students navigate their ups and downs, fostering an atmosphere of understanding and encouragement, while building resilience and self-esteem.
Safeguarding
The school has a duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of its pupils. Safeguarding our pupils is always our number one priority. Our commitment to safeguarding is outlined in our Safeguarding Policy.
All members of our team are trained in the latest safeguarding practices, and all new staff undergo extensive background checks before any appointment is confirmed.
Wellbeing
Promoting the wellbeing of our students is a core commitment, aligned with the Cognita Be Well Charter. We actively implement the Charter’s six pillars, including encouraging healthy food choices and embedding regular physical activity into daily routines, ensuring our students stay active and limit prolonged periods of sitting.
Our focus on connecting with others involves social responsibility and enterprise, while our partnership with the Sparkle Foundation allows our students and families to engage in giving and doing activities, enriching their lives and positively impacting the wider community.
Values
At AAESS our educational approach is firmly rooted in a values-based ethos that underpins all aspects of school life. We believe that academic success must be developed alongside strong moral character, cultural understanding and social responsibility.
Our curriculum and wider school experiences actively promote students’ understanding of the beliefs and legacy of Sheikh Zayed enabling students to develop a deep appreciation of the UAE’s cultural heritage and national identity. In alignment with British Values, we promote democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance. These values are explicitly taught through the curriculum, assemblies and student leadership opportunities, and are reinforced through everyday interactions, encouraging students to become thoughtful, responsible and engaged citizens.
This integrated values-based approach strongly supports students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development. As a result, students leave AAESS with a strong sense of identity, integrity and responsibility.
