Isla Newton travelled to Beijing to compete in Skate Beijing which is a competition in the Skate Asia series. She competed against more than 400 skaters from around Asia and competed really well. Isla competed in 8 events and received 5 Gold medals, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze and a 4th place medal. Isla also received a trophy for her achievements at the competition.
Principal, Andrew Thomas said, “I was really excited to hear about Isla’s haul of medals and wins. This has been a great year for Isla and I am certain she will continue to achieve further accolades and Gold medals. She has been nominated for the Teen Awards, and we can see just why. This sport takes dedication and commitment, as wells as balance, and is such a tough sport to compete in at this level. Congratulations Isla”.
