Can you guess who our mystery reader is?
For the past four weeks, the Year 4’s were teased with clues as to who their special mystery guest reader would be. The only clues they had were:
1) He/she was a gymnast for 12 years
2) He/she loves cooking
3) He/she collects art from famous artists
4) He/she has scuba dived with the most poisonous snake in the world.
Can you guess who it is?
The answer: Principal Andrew Thomas!
The kids were thrilled that Principal Thomas visited them as their first Mystery Reader. As you can see by the picture, the kids really liked the book.
Principal Thomas added, “What an amazing job I have! Today I was invited to each Year 4 class to be their ‘mystery reader’. I chose to read the Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson. The story tells of a young monkey who cannot find his mum. With the help of a butterfly, the young monkey is reunited. I was delighted to share this fun story and discuss the life cycles of butterflies and frogs, as well as the Monkey Puzzle tree itself. Our Year 4’s are really smart, and could tell me all about ‘Metamorphism’. The questions they asked me were lots of fun, but very thoughtful. Thanks to Mr. Thorenton for setting this up and the Year 4’s for letting me be part of their learning today.”
