BETT Trip

Students studying ICT as an option, or future option at IGCSE were invited to attend the BETT Middle East exhibition in Abu Dhabi this week.  BETT believe in creating a better future by transforming education. Their mission is to bring together people, ideas, practices and technologies so that educators and learners can fulfil their potential.

The exhibition gave students the opportunity to immerse themselves in some of the new innovative learning technologies that are available to support them to become digitally competent citizens of the future.

Whilst at the exhibition, students had the experience of trialling some of the latest learning technologies on the market.  The new Wacom model was of great interest to our young buddying artists in the school who drew some magnificent artwork using their stylus and screen (as seen below).  Alef were enticing students with their HTC Vive VR (virtual reality headset), offering the opportunity to take part in a Space mission game that supported the UAE Mission to Mars exhibit.  Stephen Fincher recorded the highest score of the morning and we left the exhibit with AAESS in first place on the leader board!

In addition, Mr Abass is also representing the school later today as a guest speaker at the conference, giving a talk on the realms of Physics.

All students were model ambassadors of the School during their visit.  They demonstrated great maturity and respect to the vendors and thoroughly enjoyed the experiences they had access to.
