Arabic Competition

This week we are very proud to be hosting the annual Arabic/Art competition, “My language is my identity”. We will be presenting the students fabulous work and contributions in the school’s main hall.

The school and the Arabic department are extremely impressed by the quality and quantity of the Arabic/Art work that has been presented to the school, this shows and expresses their love of the Arabic language. We have assigned a full week for the Arabic exhibition, in order to give the participants and visitors enough time to enjoy the students interesting projects.

A special thank you to Mr Thomas, the school Principal, for the continuous support of the Arabic department and his interest in using the Arabic language at the school.

We have organised a committee that consists of specialist Arabic and Art teachers, who will select the best of the best, to be awarded on Thursday 17th March, 2016. With the continued support of the Chairman, the awards will be made and posted here on the website.

Principal, Andrew Thomas said, “Wow!  You need to see this.  The models and art work are just amazing.  I love seeing the Arabic poems written in Arabic script; I have always thought that the Arabic written word is very beautiful and the way the young people have presented the language is very artistic indeed.  There is clear passion and pride for the Arabic culture that is presented here and it is to be encouraged and celebrated.  I have been asked for my top 10 today, and I am struggling as they are all so good”.

Andrew added, “The Arabic culture and language fascinates me greatly, and I am so desperate to improve my Arabic.  This school and community will always have my support in these areas & I am delighted to announce that we are looking to create an Islamic & Arabic centre here in the School for the new Academic year.   Mabrouk to all the entries and this success of this competition is down to the hard work and dedication of the Arabic department”.

Parental support and attendance are much appreciated.

Below is just a small selection of the projects we have on display.

We have this week also been honoured to receive a visit of the school from Ms. Nora Al Rashidi, Program Manager  from the School Improvement Division of ADEC/Private Education, who came to look at all the students hard work that we have on display.
